Wilson Stuart School has recently been awarded Independent Specialist Provision status for its educational programmes for young adults aged 19-25 years.  The Wilson Stuart UCB Partnership Trust (WSUCBPT), LIVE at The Hive study programme is designed to enable students to access work placements which match their career aspirations.  We provide support to students whilst they are in the work place with a view to them gaining independent, meaningful, paid employment at the end of their studies at The Hive.

We require the following for September 2017

Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Actual Starting Salary £12690 (includes Living Wage Enhancement) plus SEN allowance £1197 dependent on years’ service based on 32.5 hours per week Term Time Only

The post includes classroom support, mentoring, pastoral care and assisting with the physical care of pupils as and when required.   You should have excellent communication and written skills with high expectations of learning and behaviour and a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification.

Level 2 Parent and Community Worker

A Parent and Community Worker is required to support students on our STRIVE and THRIVE programmes at The Hive College.

The STRIVE programme is centred on the students own communities and is aimed to give students and their families the independence and confidence they need to take part in the wider community.

The THRIVE programme is centred on the students finding supported employment and volunteering opportunities so that students are able to participate safely in activities within their community.

The role will include identifying activities that meet the student’s individual needs and desires within their own communities and also sourcing opportunities for supported employment and volunteering roles.  Close liaison with parents must be maintained to support them and their child in their transition into adult life, once they have left The Hive College.

We require a Work Placement Supervisor to support work placement activities across our 16-25 programmes of study here at Wilson Stuart School and The Hive. The supervision of students will include escorting students to and from their work placement, assisting them with acquiring the skills required to carry out the job role and assisting students who may require feeding and toileting management whilst on placement and at the school/Hive.

Casual Level 2 Work Placement Supervisors for our 19 – 25 students

Rate of pay £8.45 per hour

We require Casual Work Placement Supervisors to support work placement activities across our 19-25 programmes of study at The Hive. The supervision of students will include escorting students to and from their work placement or meeting them at their place of work, assisting them with acquiring the skills required to carry out the job role and assisting students who may require feeding and toileting management whilst on placement and at The Hive. A full, clean driving licence is essential for all applicants as applicants will be required to train to drive our minibus.

Level 1 Female Care Assistants

We require a female care assistant to assist our female students with personal care when required and to assist in the female bathrooms.

The roles will include some pastoral care so good communication and written skills would be desirable. Roles also include entitlement to all school holidays.

The Hive College requires a minibus driver to transport students with physical and learning difficulties to and from The Hive College.  A full driving licence is essential.

3 days per week 7.30 am – 9.00am and 4.00 pm – 5.30pm.

The rate of pay is £8.45 per hour x 9 hours = £76.05 per week.

X 2 Casual Bus Guides Term Time Only

We require 2 casual bus guides to support the minibus driver to transport students with physical and learning difficulties to and from The Hive College.

Post 1 for 3 days per week 7.30 am – 9.00 am and 4.00 pm – 5.30pm

The rate of pay is £8.45 per hour x 9 hours = £76.05 per week.

Post 2 for 5 days per week 4.00 pm – 5.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 3.15 pm – 4.45 pm on Friday

The rate of pay is £8.45 per hour x 7.5 hours = £63.37 per week.
