Let’s start with who we are..

The Hive College welcome’s students with disabilities and different learning needs aged from 19 – 25. We’re here to help students develop the important qualities they need to aid their transition into adult life.

We offer course and employment based pathways for students to explore and develop their skills and abilities and build a strong foundation for their future.

In short, we are committed to helping students be the best they can be.

Alongside the work of our fantastic team of staff, our dedicated volunteers and the amazing support services close to our hearts, we are delighted to have developed outstanding links with employers, community groups and other organisations who are equally committed to ensuring our students have a positive life experience.

Mehar helped myself in particular for two days inputting course participant data into pdf certificates: this was by means a simple task but Mehar completed it accurately and effectively.

Although I was not able to attend the office during Mehar’s placement I spoke to her on the phone and via Skype videoconferencing. Mehar came across as a friendly, confident and articulate person and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. I hope she has a great time at Butlins in a few weeks and enjoys her future career.

I just wanted to express how delightful it has been to have Daniel with us over the last few months.

He has such a pleasant nature and is always eager to please. He has grown in confidence to the extent that he is happy to work unsupervised now but will ask if he needs any help.

He interacts with the rest of the staff really well and is a credit to The Hive and all that you do there.

I would like to recommend that any business considers working with Julie & The Hive to engage with their students.

One of my clients has recently taken on a student – intially as a work placement one day a week, she is now on a supported internship and all being well in June she will become an employee. They not only have found Annie to be a great worker and ambassador for The Hive, but also  found dealing with Julie and Annie’s job coach so simple and easy. Their comment was “I feel we should be doing more – paperwork, support etc.” The reality is that Julie and team do all the work, so the business just experiences a great worker.
